Move-It Monday & get a bikini body

Move-It Monday

Move-It Monday

Yes, it’s that time of year again when we either can’t wait to get to the nearest beach to show off our gym-sculpted bodies or we go shopping for the best camouflage we can get away with! If you fall into the latter category, fear not, help is at hand with Woollywotnots’ Move- Monday and this week’s 5 Step Plan to achieving a body you may feel happier to reveal!

1.Eat well. Eating healthily is not hard to do. Supermarkets, local traders and door-to door services are catching on, making it easier for us to have a healthy diet. It is recommended that we take in at least 5 portions of fruit and/or vegetables every day. Why not try making smoothies? Make it fun! - try fun ways to present healthy foods. Moderate the amount of dairy produce we eat and use low fat options, where possible. Cut out salt, where possible, and do not add to food at the table. Enjoy foods containing higher fat, sugar or salt in moderation only.

2. Drink water. Our body contains over 70% water and we have to maintain this percentage for good health.  Soft drinks and alcohol are diuretics and can actually make us feel dehydrated. Water plays a vital role in every bodily function and regulates the temperature. It’s also our best natural beauty treatment and does wonders for our looks! It flushes out impurities in our skin and leaves us with a clear, glowing complexion! It fills us up and lessens the appetite, preventing the hungry feeling and minimises our urge to snack. Experts recommend adults drink 8 glasses or 1.8 litres of water a day.

3. Wear the right costume for your shape.  A one-piece is always more sculpting than a bikini. Wear frills at the cleavage if you want to enhance volume and boost a flatter chest. Vertical stripes work well to streamline full tummies and larger bottoms and can make you look slimmer at the waist. Don’t forget sarongs and tankinis if you are not confident enough for a bikini. Our High Street stores are full of mix and match options and, together with stylish flip flops and sunglasses, you can really look the part!

4.Get a head start with tanning. There are lots of easy to use products on the market that can give your skin a healthy summer glow or you might want to try a salon spray-on tan for a change. Remember to always use a high factor sun protection when sun bathing.

5. Do some exercise. You’ll be surprised by what you can achieve in a short space of time. If nothing else, ten minutes skipping with a rope in your garden each day will burn calories and a few gyrations with a hoola hoop will work miracles on your waistline!

So, don’t hide away this summer, take some action and enjoy your bikini body!

  1. You’re doing well with your weight loss! Thanks for the Move-It Monday encouragement. I made a huge effort to eat healthy this weekend. I only drank water, had rice cakes instead of bread (my body doesn’t like grains), didn’t snack much and cut waaaaay back on sugar and processed foods. I felt great and was able to sleep well. Also lost a few pounds, which was wonderful. Lots more to go, tho.

    • Wow! That is fantastic Stacy. Well done!! YOU GO GIRL!!! :-) All great things to do and a resulting weight loss too. Congrats! Keep going! Looking forward to a further update next week ;-)
