Hey folks, it is Move-It Monday and time for you to shake your booty!

There is absolutely no excuse not to burn calories today. There are so many ways…

  • Run up and down stairs until you are puffed out!
  • Visit a farm and volunteer to milk a cow
  • Wash your car
  • Iron your clothes
  • Do some yoga stretches
  • Clean your home and scrub, scrub, scrub
  • Go grocery shopping for healthy fruit and veg of course
  • Sweep the paths
  • Kiss your favourite person
  • Make your bed
  • Have a re-jig and rearrange all your furniture
  • Mow the lawn
  • Paint your walls – if you don’t need to decorate paint all your exterior walls with water (the kids will love to help)
  • Walk around your place of work or home
  • Dance wildly to your favourite music
  • Garden
  • Go swimming
  • Go skipping
  • Cycle round the park
  • Go for a walk
  • Rowing
  • Do some weights
  • Even watching TV or sleeping, you’re burning calories

I found this cool calorie calculator where you type in your activity and for how many minutes you were active and what your weight is. It will calculator the calories burned.

Surfing the internet this week, I discovered you need to burn approximately 3,500 calories to lose 1 pound of fat. Wow! That is a lot of moving your booty to burn those pounds, so let’s get to it! It certainly makes you stop eating more than you should because it is soo easy to put it on, but getting it off and keeping it off is much harder.

This week, I’ve run just over 7km over 3 sessions. I’m slowing improving! My aim is to run in a 5k race in the early autumn. :-)

I’ve not lost so much weight this week, only 2 pounds and therefore, I’ve failed completely my goal to lose 20 pounds in a month. Hey, no excuses I’ve just not burned more calories than I’ve taken in… so I’m just moving,moving,moving this week. I’m running up and down stairs when I’m out and avoiding the escalators, I’m running and dancing and skipping :-)

  2. I lost maybe half a pound this week, but at least I didn’t gain. I didn’t move as much as I wanted to … I usually take neighborhood walks in the evening, but this weekend I was exhausted. Hopefully I’ll get back on track this week.

    I agree with Annamaria, you have tons of energy and determination! Your blog amazes me– all of the ideas you come up with and all that you accomplish.
